This playful and vibrant WhatsApp story series celebrates holidays in a unique and imaginative way, blending fresh narratives with stunning visual artistry. It focuses on three signature occasions—Lunar New Year, Diwali, and the New Year's Countdown—each brought to life with striking animations that are sure to leave a lasting impression. From the lively Lion Dance to the warm glow of Diwali lanterns, every detail has been thoughtfully designed. The use of cel animation adds depth to these moments, creating a cinematic feel that immerses viewers in the experience. Each story offers a new way to see these traditional celebrations, giving them a modern and artistic touch.
After Effects and cel animators completed three looped animations for festivals. For Lunar New Year, I meticulously animated the dragon's head to ensure smooth transitions between scenes, making the dragon the central element of the animation and allowing each frame to connect seamlessly. I enhanced the background with lanterns, twinkles, and horns to make the visuals more vibrant. For Diwali, I created the shot with fireworks exploding and a hand reaching out to catch a candle, which then lights a clay lamp. I paid close attention to every detail, including the effect of wind on the candle flame as it moved. On New Year’s Eve, I animated sparkles and confetti to the background based on the frame-by-frame animation sketches.
