The Subway Is...

Step into a decommissioned New York City subway station, where history comes to life. Subway cars from different eras are lined up on the platform, each representing a unique chapter in the city’s 120-year transit story. From the tools that carved the first underground railway to the iconic subway tokens used by generations of riders, this space captures the evolution of a system that has powered the city’s pulse. These artifacts honor the millions of journeys and everyday lives supported by this network beneath the bustling streets above.

Inspired by the constant motion of city life. From subway cars gliding through tunnels to people rushing past each other, it reflects connection and the ever-changing nature of the urban experience. These moments are often brief, a glimmer of light on a passing train, the blur of faces in a crowd, or objects appearing and disappearing in an instant. The design highlights these fleeting details, turning them into a reminder of the beauty in everyday motion.
